Old Town Key West homes are some of the most sought after homes in Key West. Their charm, unique colors and architecture, and convenient location make them very desirable as both primary residences or vacation homes. Check out our drone video of Old Town Key West above.
Old Town Key West homes are characterized by classic bungalows, cottages and victorian style mansions. Most of these buildings were constructed between 1886 and 1912 and are wood-frame construction. Exterior features include peaked metal roofs, horizontal wood siding, pastel paint colors, covered porches, gingerbread trim, side-hinged louvered shutters and wood lattice screen. The fact that so many of these homes are still around today is a testament to the skilled marine carpenters who built Old Town. Dade county pine, a hard, durable, rot-resistant wood, was the mainstay of early Key West construction. Read more in our Old Town Key West blog.
