Boca Chica Key is located in the lower Florida Keys from about mile marker 6 to 8. The majority of Boca Chica Key is the Naval Air Station Key West, a world class pilot training facility. The rest of the key is covered with mangroves and salt marshes that have remained free from development. This makes Boca Chica key home to many rare and endangered plant and animals. If you head north to Big Coppitt Key and take Boca Chica Rd, this will take you back south to Geiger Key and Boca Chica beach. Geiger Key has a marina, RV park and restaurant which are open to the public. The Naval Air Station on Boca Chica Key also has a marina, beach, restaurant, fitness center and bowling, but access is limited to military personnel. Boca Chica channel provides easy access to nearby diving and fishing spots in both the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean. Key Haven, Rockland Key and Big Coppitt Key are the closest residential neighborhoods to Boca Chica Key.
